Close personal friend/father of our godchild/Gopher hockey, football and wrestling arena announcer/and former Zonker-like roommate James "Please tell me you don't still have those photos?" Verbrugge is moving up in the world (or at least north on a map).
With mere days before the arrival of the newest little Gee, Jamie has landed an awesome new job! Here's hoping you continue your Vblogs in your new role!
Congrats James, we are proud of you!

Brooklyn Park finds new city manager
The final details still need to be completed, but Brooklyn Park appears to have found its next city manager. That person is Rosemount City Administrator James Verbrugge. Before Verbrugge was Rosemount city administrator for five years, he was the assistant city manager in Eagan.
In a telephone interview with 12 News, Verbrugge says he is "excited" about the new job, calling Brooklyn Park "an interesting community with an awful lot of potential." He adds, "They have a reputation of having an excellent staff and a council that is focused on future goals of the community. So I think everything is lined up for the community to be successful over the next several years."
Verbrugge sees Brooklyn Park as a way to continue to work on issues he's passionate about on a larger level. He says those issues include development and redevelopment, and "working with citizens toward building a community. Those are aspects of the job I really enjoy," he said.
Brooklyn Park city officials say they hope to finalize a contract with Verbrugge this week. The Brooklyn Park City Council is expected to vote on the anticipated hiring Monday night. Verbrugge would replace Doug Reeder who has been Brooklyn Park city manager since 2003.
